About Claire Emory MBA, CFP, CFA & Fee-Only Financial Planner

A Woman’s Journey

Claire EmoryClaire Emory is dedicated to helping people, and women especially, take care of themselves and the people they love. She learned the importance of financial planning and literacy at an early age thanks to financially creative parents who were masters of getting the most out of their money. Family adventures were frugal and fabulous when Claire was a child, and she learned the value of saving for the future early on. Her father read aloud to her from the Wall Street Journal and Barron’s magazine throughout her childhood, and by the age of 10 Claire had a healthy respect for the independence that smart money management can bring.

After a varied and interesting career with the US Government, including a stint with a bank regulatory agency, Claire decided to take some time off to travel, write a novel, and refocus her career in a way that serves individual more directly. As a champion of holistic financial decision making and financial planning since 2004 who believes in putting the client’s needs first, Claire has found her niche as a Fee-Only financial planner and advisor. She is also part of an elite group of Chartered Financial Analysts certified by the CFA Institute who also take an all-inclusive Fee-Only approach to services. Establishing Clarity Financial Planning, LLC to serve clients in DC, Maryland, and Virginia was the next logical step.

Why Retain a Fee-Only Financial Planner?

Fee-Only financial planners adhere to strict codes of ethics and never benefit from recommending a particular product or service. Clients pay a yearly fee for Claire’s advice and guidance (based on income, net worth, and financial situation), and she does everything in her power to provide valuable financial guidance and honor that trust. Based on her experience and training, Claire is highly qualified to offer an all-inclusive approach to your financial well-being. She excels at bringing the separate pieces of your financial plan into alignment with your goals.

When you want a change from the same old “wealth management” approach that seems to whittle away your wealth while managing to make your brokerage more money, the holistic approach of Fee-Only financial planning is a great answer. Wealth is about more than your portfolio; it is about mindset, decision making, insurance needs and plans, keeping beneficiaries current, and making sure you have the skills you need to manage your financial record keeping.

Claire works with women and men, couples and families, and all clients who want to keep their financial house in order for their future and for their loved ones.  As more and more women are taking control of their finances by choice or by necessity, Claire’s dream and the mission of Clarity Financial Planning is to provide the guidance these women need to create the future they want while protecting themselves and their families.
